CERELAC Lentil Soup

Ingredients

  • Cerelac Rice 30g
  • Garlic clove, mashed 1/4
  • Onion Small, finely chopped 1/8
  • Vegetable oil 1 tsp
  • Red lentils 2 tbsp
  • Tomato, peeled & chopped 1 tbsp
  • Butternut squash, chopped 1 tbsp
  • Tumeric, black pepper, cumin pinches, to taste
  • Lemonfor serving

Cooking Method

Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes, then drain and set aside. Chop the onion and butternut squash. Peel and chop the tomato. Mash the garlic. In a small pot, fry the onion and garlic in the oil until translucent. Then add the lentils, tomato, butternut squash, water, and spices (if using) and mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil. Then cover and simmer for 1 hour until the lentils are cooked through. Towards the end, add the Cerelac and continue cooking for 1 minute. Squeeze some lemon before serving.

N.B: Make sure to supervise your little foodie during feeding time and you can cut or shape the dish conveniently to his/her needs.
